The United States (US) on Saturday urged the government of Bangladesh to investigate every aspect of the killing of the Japanese national and bring the perpetrators to justice soon.”I urge the Government of Bangladesh to investigate every aspect of this crime and to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible,” said US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat in a statement.She also said, she is deeply saddened by the murder of Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio in Rangpur and offered her condolences to Hoshi’s family, friends, and Japan.Barely a week into the killing of an Italian national in capital Dhaka, Japanese national Hoshi Kunio, 65, was gunned down by unknown miscreants at Alutari in Kaunia upazila in Rangpur district here on Saturday.Meanwhile, the South Korean Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday advised its citizens in Bangladesh to exercise caution and maintain a high level of personal security awareness all times in all places.”Exercise caution and maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times in all places,” it said in a notice.Besides, the Japanese Embassy in Dhaka issued ‘safety information’ for its nationals in Bangladesh after the killing of Japanese national Hoshi in Rangpur.In a notice on its official Facebook page, the Embassy advised its nationals to avoid ‘nonessential’ travel together.It also suggested taking extra measures while travelling trough cars keeping the door locked.The Embassy also suggested its nationals to go to the Embassy to report on in case of any abnormal situation.Contacted, the Spokesperson at the Japanese Embassy in Dhaka Takeshi Matsunaga told UNB that they have been informed by law enforcement agencies yesterday morning that a Japanese national was gunned down.”We understand that the matter is now under investigation by the law enforcement agencies of the country (Bangladesh),” he said refraining from making further comment.On the other hand, Singapore kept the travel notice unchanged that was issued on October 1.”In light of security risks involving possible attacks on foreigners, Singaporeans, either travelling to or already in Bangladesh, are advised to maintain a high level of vigilance and exercise caution while in public places frequented by foreigners,” the notice reads available on the website of Singapore Foreign Ministry.Singaporeans should take precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the news closely and avoiding public gatherings and crowded places, it said.
