Japan is interested in assisting Bangladesh for development of the country’s shipping sector, including Chittagong Seaport.
Japanese ambassador in Dhaka Masato Watanabe expressed the interest at a meeting with Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan at the latter’s office in the Secretariat.
During the meeting, they discussed the issues of mutual interest, said a PID handout.
Shipping Secretary Shafique Alam Mehdi was present at the meeting.
