Monirampur Puja udjapan Parishad observed suvo Janmastami, one of the religious festivals of Hindu community.
Marking the birth anniversary of Lord Sree Krishna, on Sunday Puja udjapon porishad was taken a series of programs. With due religious devour and enthusiasm the days programs begun with Mongol Ghat place and ended by discussion meeting. Besides picture and quiz competition were also held and a colorful rally brought out on the occasion.
Presided over by Puja parishad president Tulshi Basu the discussion meeting was spoke member of parliament (MP) Jessore-5 Sapon Kumar Bhattacharjee as chief guest. Among others Jessore Puja udjapan parished president and secretary Asim Kumar Kundu and Dipankar Das respectively were spokes as special guest.
BSS from Rangpur reports: The Hindu community celebrated ‘Janmashtami’, the birthday of Lord Sri Krishna, in a befitting manner with due religious fervour, festivity and enthusiasm in Rangpur division on Sunday as elsewhere in the country.
The Hindu community people celebrated the ‘Janmashtami’ through daylong elaborate programmes amid due religious solemnity, fervour, festivity, gaiety and enthusiasm in a befitting manner in the district and upazila towns and other areas everywhere.
Dozens of colourful rallies, ‘Mangal Shovajatra’, discussions on Lord Krishna and religious rituals were arranged and special prayers offered seeking divine blessings for continuous peace, welfare and prosperity of the nation and the whole humankind.
Thousands of the Hindu people of all ages, attired in traditional dresses, took part in the ‘Mangal Shovajatra’ and colourful rallies carrying idol of Lord Krishna, colourful banners and festoons to mark the auspicious day.
Special prayers, puja, fasting and recitation from the holy ‘Sreematbhagabat Geeta’ and Krishna Bandana were offered at mandirs, temples and houses of the Hindu Community people and ‘Prasads’ were distributed among devotees with due religious rituals.
BSS from Faridpur adds: The joyful celebration of the birth day of Lord Krishna popularly known as Janmashtami was held here today in a befitting manner.
A colorful rally with a portrait of Lord Krishna was brought out in the morning from DC office premises which paraded the main thoroughfares of the town before terminating at Kabi Jasimuddin hall.
A discussion meeting on the teachings of Lord Krishna was held at Kabi Jasimuddin Hall. Awami League central advisory committee member SM Nurunnabi attended the meeting as the chief guest chaired by ADC Gen) Md. Abdur Rashid.
Speakers at the discussion meeting stressed need to follow the ideals and teachings of Lord Krishna to maintain peace, harmony and stability in society consisting people of different caste and creeds.
