Executive Committee of the Lyricists Association of Bangladesh’s biennial election was held on Friday at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital’s Segunbagicha area. For the post of President Shahid Mahmud Jangi was elected without contest. Asif Iqbal was elected as the General Secretary as he got 72 votes. Zulfiqar Russell was elected as the organising secretary defeating Latiful Islam Shibly. In the evening of that day, results were announced by chief election commissioner Naquib Khan. Two other election commissioners Kumar Bishwajit and Foad Nasser Babu were also present during that occasion.
For 2022-24, Liton Adhikari Rintu and Golam Morshed were elected vice presidents, while Bappi Khan and Delowar Arjuda Sharaf were elected for the posts of joint secretaries. Joy Shahriar won for the post of cultural secretary, while Johny Haque, Ahmed Rizvi, Sirajum Munir and Bakiul Alam were elected as the general members. Meanwhile, Enamul Kabir Sujon, Mahmud Manzur and Robiul Islam Jibon were elected without any contest for the posts of finance secretary, office secretary and IT secretary respectively in the election.
