The namaz-e-janaza of freedom fighter and former member of parliament Khandaker Abdul Baten, who died at a city hospital was held on the south plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on Monday.
Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Awami League Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed, former parliament whip Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury, former and incumbent members of parliament, political colleagues, JS secretariat officials and employees attended the janaza.
A guard of honor was given to the freedom fighter for his contribution to the country’s Liberation War.
Later, on behalf of the Prime Minister, her special assistant Abdus Sobhan Golap paid tributes by placing a wreath on his coffin.
