Janata Bank Limited donated a bus to Jagannath University (JnU) on Thursday.
The bus was donated under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, said a university press release.
JnU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman received an emblem key of the 52-seat bus from Sheikh Md Wahiduzzaman, Chairman of Janata Bank Limited at the bank’s main branch, Motijheel.
JnU Treasurer Professor Md Selim Bhuiyan, JnU Teacher’s Association President Professor Dr Ali Noor and General Secretary Professor Dr Md Abul Hossain, Acting Proctor Dr Noor Mohammad, pro-Awami League teachers association ‘Blue Panel’ President Professor Dr Md Ashraf-ul-Alam, transport administrator Professor Dr Nur-e-alam Abdullah, JnU Registrar Engineer Md Ohiduzzaman, among others, were also present on the occasion.
However, the bank also donated two new buses to Rajshahi University and Comilla University during this time. RU treasurer Professor Shayen Uddin Ahmed and CoU VC Professor Dr Ali Ashraf took the symbolic key from the bank authority on behalf of the respective university.
