Though the water of Jamuna River is flowing over 26 cm above the danger level, it has been started decreasing. In the last 24 hours, the water of Jamuna was flowing at 9.66 centimeters less by 12 centimetersat Aricha Point inShibalayaupazila of Manikganj. Although the water level in the Jamuna has decreased, the water level in the inland rivers and tributaries continues to rise. Suffering is taking place as the roads are flooded.
Monday (September 6) afternoon Water Development Board Aricha Point Gauge Reader Farooq Hossain said that the water level in the Jamuna has started decreasing.
The normal measurement of water at Arichapoint of Jamuna river is 9.40 cm. In the last 24 hours, the water level of Jamuna was declining by 12 cm and flowing at the level of 9.66 cm.
Although the water level of Jamuna has decreased, the water level in Kaliganga, Dhaleshwari, Ichhamati, Kantabati and other rivers has continued to rise. As a result of the increase in water, different areas around the river are being flooded every day. Thousands of people in the char areas of Shibalaya, Daulatpur and Harirampurupazilas of Manikganj have been flooded. Roads and ghats in these areas have been submerged. As a result, the people of this area are suffering.
