Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Jamie Day has tested negative for coronavirus. Day got his corona report on Monday last and according to the report Day became negative of Covid-19 test. So, there is no barrier for Jamie Day to join the squad of Bangladesh Football team in Qatar. Bangladesh will play their away match against Qatar in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2022 and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers 2023 on December 4. According to a source, Jamie Day will leave the city for Qatar today to present with his boys there.
Jamie Day inspired his boys staying at the dugout against Nepal and Bangladesh defeated Nepal by two goals to nil in the first match of the Bangabandhu FIFA International Football Series at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on November 13. But Day was infected by coronavirus before the second match against Nepal on November 17. So, Day could not stay at the dugout during the match. Bangladesh played a goalless draw with Nepal in that match.
After the match, Bangladesh team left the city for Qatar to play the Qualifiers. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) informed that Jamie Day will fly for Qatar today. BFF is trying to reduce the quarantine time of Jamie Day as Day can stay at the dug out during the match of Bangladesh against Qatar.
After becoming corona negative, Jamie Day said to the journalists, ” I am very happy. I feel I am freed from Jail. I shall leave the city for Qatar tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.”
