Jamal Uddin passes away

M. Jamal Uddin, an educationist and social reformer died of old-age ailment in his residence at Mirpur on October 6.
Prof. Jamal Uddin was born in 1944 in Borguna Thana of Barishal district. He studied in BM College. Barisal and Jagannath College, Dhaka, and obtained his M.Com degree in Mathematics from University of Chittagong . He joined Government’s Teacherers’ Training College as a teacher. He wrote many academic books taught in schools and colleges.
After retiring from government service he was involved with different social activities at Maddhya Pikepara of Dhaka city. He was the Chairman of Commnity policing and Chairman of Durnity Protirodh Committee of greater Mirpur of Dhaka city.
During Liberation War, he was an organiser of the liberation force.
He left behind wife, one son and a daughter (both doctors) to mourn his death.
