Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuiyan has tested positive for coronavrus.
Jamal Bhuiyan went to Qatar to play for Bangladesh against the hosts in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2022 and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers 2023 in Doha.
After the match, Bangladesh team arrived in Dhaka on December 5 without Jamal Bhuiyan as he felt slight temperature.
General Secretary of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Md Abu Nayeem Shohag said, ” Jamal had a slight temperature when Bangladesh team were leaving for Dhaka from Doha. He returned back and subsequently tested positive for coronavirus. He is now under observation of Qatar FA and is in isolation at a hotel.”
Jamal, who signed for Kolkata Mohammedan Sporting Club, was supposed to go to India for the upcoming I League , scheduled to begin from January 9 next year.
