The first day of 48-hour countrywide hartal of Jamaat-e-Islami receives little response on Tuesday.
The hartal which at started 6:00am on Tuesday and will continue until 6:00am on Thursday.
The Jamaat called the hartal after the Supreme Court rejected the review petition against death sentence awarded to its Assistant Secretary General Muhammad Kamaruzzaman on Monday.
In the capital, the party activists and Islami Chhatra Shibir brought out several flash processions at Mirpur, Badda and Jatrabari early in the
morning. The hartal supporters set a bus afire at Lengra Bazar in Bogra district town in the afternoon. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Presence of vehicles was as usual on the Roads and Highways. The rail communication was also normal.
Launches and cargo vessels were seen slightly in the rivers.
