Chittagong Bureau :The daylong hartal called by Jamaat-e-Islami, passed off in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and three hill districts peacefully without any major incidents . Passenger buses, trucks, private cars went off the roads but the rickshaws, autorickshaws and tempos seen plying in the city. Police remained alert in most important points of the city during hartal period. Additional law enforcers including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed in the districts to avert untoward situation.Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Babul Akhter said that no picketer was seen on the street.
