UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday expressed disappointment over the resignation of its assistant secretary general Barrister Abdur Razzaq.
In a statement, party secretary general Dr Shafiqur Rahman said, “We’re upset at his (Razzaq) resignation. But tendering
resignation is a recognised right of any member (of the party). Wherever he is, we pray so that he stays well and healthy.”
The Jamaat leader hoped that Razzaq will maintain a relation of love with their party and its leaders.
Mentioning that Razzaq was senior and responsible leader of Jamaat, Shafiq said their party remembers his all previous contributions to the party with respect.
Earlier in the day, Razzaq sent his resignation letter from the UK to Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmed in the morning as he said the party failed to apologise for its anti-liberation war role in 1971 and reform the organistion based on reality.
