Staff Reporter :Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday staged countrywide demonstration demanding the release of its top leaders, including the party’s Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed. As part of the countrywide programme, the party brought out a procession at Kuril Biswa Raod area in the city in the morning. However, the procession was sudden and for the short time.Jamaat central leader Md Selim Uddin led theprocession. He also addressed a brief rally after the procession. He said that the government is now planning to kill Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid in the name of justice. “The government wants destroy Jamaat and other Islamic parties in a bid to cling to the power. So, it has become desperate to kill the Jamaat leaders,” he said. Jamaat-e-Islami also brought out processions in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet, Rangpur, Comilla, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Sirajganj, Satkhira and Faridpur.
