Staff Reporter :Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday brought out procession in some parts of Dhaka city and several other parts of the country, demanding the release of its detained top leaders, including the party Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid before Ramzan. This was the first-ever protest programme of the party since the end of BNP-led alliance’s three-month countrywide blockade programme. As part of the countrywide programme, the Jamaat-Shibir men brought out procession at Mirpur-10, Jatrabari and some other areas in the capital city in the morning.However, the processions were sudden and for short time. The Jamaat-Shibir men also brought out processions in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Munshiganj and Jhenaidah. Jamaat Acting Secretary General Dr Shafiqur Rahman said that Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and other party leaders have been in the jail for a long time unfairly. The government is killing the party leaders in the name of justice.
