UNB, Pirojpur :
Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Nusrat Bazar area of Zianagar upazila on Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as M Abdul Hye Matabbar, general secretary of Zianagar upazila unit of Jamaat.
Officer-in-charge of Indurkani Police Station Qamruzzaman Talukdar said police arrested Abdul Hye Matabbar from the area around 12pm while he was going to his village home Goserhat from the upazila headquarters.
Abdul Hye was wanted in 7-8 cases, including a local Jubo League leader killing case, filed with different police stations, said police.
