Jamaat leader gets 6 months’ jail for subversive activities

A mobile court here on Tuesday sentenced a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami to six months’ jail for committing subversive activities.
The convict was identified as Aminur Rahman, ameer of Koikhali union unit Jamaat and son of Nausher Alam, a resident of Koikhali village in Shyamnagar upazila.
Police arrested Aminur Rahman from the village at about 11:00 am on charge of carrying out subversive activities.
Later, the arrestee was produced before the mobile court led by assistant commissioner (Land) Ahsan Ullah who handed down the verdict.
Officer-in-charge Aminul Islam of Shyamnagar Police Station confirmed
the matter.
