Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Jamaat-e-Islami Working Council member Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud, also former Islami Chhatra Shibir President on a seven-day fresh remand.Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka, passed the order after police produced him to the court with 30 days’ fresh remand plea in three cases filed with Paltan Police Station.Dr Masud is already on a 14-day remand in four cases with Motijheel Police Station and two with Ramna Police Station.On August 9, police arrested Dr Shifiqul Islam Masud and 20 other Jamaat leaders and activists while they were in a secret meeting at a house on Zakir Hossain road in the city’s Mohammadpur area.Later, Masud was placed on 25 days’ remand in eight cases.
