Demo today: Jamaat for exemplary punishment

Staff Reporter :Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced of staging countrywide demonstration for today (Wednesday) demanding exemplary punishment to the detained and ousted Awami League leader Abdul Latif Siddiqui for his derogatory comments against Islam. Jamaat acting secretary general Dr Shafiqur Rahman made the announcement on Tuesday. He said that Latif Siddique is self-declared atheist and he has committed a heinous crime by making derogatory comments against Islam, holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) and the Tablig Jamaat. He called upon the government to ensure exemplary punishment to the atheist immediately. The countrymen are united on the issue of Latif Siddiqui. They took to the streets and will continue the movement unit their demand is met, said Dr Shafique. He also said that the people of the country won’t forgive Latif Siddique. So the government should not dillydally on the matter.  The Jamaat leader called upon the leaders and workers of his party to make the countrywide demonstration programme a success.
