Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has suddenly changed its founding logo without any announcement and started using it secretly. After eight years, the Jamaat leaders took the decision of changing the logo of the party.
The party through a press release informed it on Tuesday noon. The party’s no senior leader could be reached for the comment on the issue. Even no reply appeared in e-mail.
But The party is yet to issue any official statement regarding the change.
The new logo is illustrated with red and green colour. In the party’s pad, Jamaat used the new logo
in its left side with the word Bangladesh in red colours, while green in Jamaat-e-Islami.
Since formation of the party, its logo was illustrated in green colour using the word “Aakimuddin” means “establish Islam including its election symbol Scale inscribed on it.
The party’s new move drew attention of the countrymen as the two colours are particularly used for the national flag.
Jamaat’s Central Majlish Sura member and Sylhet South district unit Jamaat Ameer Habibur Rahman said “We cannot use the past logo as the election commission has postponed our registration. This is why we use the new logo.”
He declined to state the time of the new decision, saying Jamaat’s policymakers would disclose it later.
Its many Dhaka city unit activists opined that the emergence of Jamaat with new name could come into discussion through the change. Central Working Committee Member Zainul Abedin said that he was not aware of their name change.
However, the party was renamed Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in 2008 to get registered as a political party with the election commission.
