Jamaat-e-Islami has called countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday in protest against the ICT-2 verdict that has awarded death penalty to the party central executive committee member Mir Quasem Ali. Jamaat acting Ameer Moqbul Ahmed issued a statement announcing the 24-hour shutdown at around 1:00pm on Sunday, hours after the verdict was pronounced.
