Former director of the Board of Investment (BoI) M Jalalul Hai has received the prestigious ‘Order of the Rising Sun’, a national decoration awarded by the Japan government.
Jalalul Hai was conferred with the award in recognition of his great contribution to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Bangladesh, according to press release from the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka.
The government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2016 Spring Imperial Decorations.
Jalalul Hai made relentless efforts in promoting Japanese investment in Bangladesh. His indomitable spirit and persuasion have successfully facilitated some of the outstanding investments from Japan to Bangladesh and greatly contributed to expanding the economic relations between the two countries.
Hai is the sixth Bangladeshi who received the honour from the Japanese government.
