Deputy Minister for Environment and Forests Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, inaugurated environment friendly and power efficient green refrigerator project of Walton at Chandra in Gazipur on Saturday, says a press release.
“We are producing latest technology fridges in the world. It’s a matter of joy and pride for us. Bangladesh has started a new era today,” he said
He also termed the inauguration of the green refrigerator project as a historic moment.
Md. Raisul Alam Mondal, Director General of Department of Environment Bangladesh and Khurshid Alam, Assistant Country Director for UNDP Bangladesh attended the programme.
Managing Director to Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, S.M. Ashraful Alam, Executive Directors to Walton Group, SM Zahid Hasan, Md Humayun Kabir, Sirajul Islam and Ashraful Ambia, Operative Directors Uday Hakim and Col. (retd.) SM Shahadat Alam were among others present on the occasion.
“Once upon a time Bangladesh was insulted as ‘A bottomless basket’ but now Bangladesh has become a role model of economic development in the world. We will make a beautiful, happy and environment friendly Bangladesh,” he said.
Managing Director to Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, S.M. Ashraful Alam said, “Walton doesn’t use a single gram of chemical harmful for environment. We provide highest importance in this regard for the sake of environment.”
