The 39th Jail Killing Day, one of the black spots on the nation’s genocide history was observed in Bagerhat district town and its all the 9 Upazilas through different programmes in order to pay rich tributes to the 4 national leaders and War Heroes- Sayed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain M. Mansur Ali and AHM. Quamruzzaman.
On the occasion a mourning rally that was brought out by the local leaders of Bagerhat district Awami League and its front organizations from the local AL office premises at 11 am paraded the main roads of the district town. It was attended by the leaders of local Awami League and its front organizations. It was followed by a discussion meeting held in the local Awami league office. It was addressed among others by Al-haj Dr. Mozammel Hossain, president of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and MP of Bagerhat Constituency-4, Al-haj Adv. Mir Shawkat Badsha MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2, Sharmin Sultana Lily, Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Chatra League, Mir Joysi Asharafi James, Secretary General of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Chatra League and local Awami League leaders and its front organizations. Quran Khani and special prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed souls of 4 the four late leaders.
