The 43rd death anniversary of veteran Awami League leader and one of the organizers of liberation war of Bangladesh late Jahur Ahamod Chowdhury was observed in Chittagong on Saturday.
Chittagong City Awami League held a rally in observance of his 43rd death anniversary.
Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and General Secretary of Chittagong City Awami League A J M Nasir Uddin addressed the function as key speaker.
Addressing the rally, A J M Nasir Uddin said late Jahur Ahamod Chowdhury was one of the founders of Awami League who was also one of the key organizers of our liberation war. He dedicated his life for country and people, mayor recalled.
The new generation has to follow the fair and devoted politics of late Jahur Ahamod Chowdhury, he added. The law affairs secretary of Chittagong City Awami League Advocate Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury moderated the function while leaders of Chittagong City Awami League Khorshed Alam Sujan, Badiul Alam, M A Rashid, Sheikh Muhammed Ishak, Noman Al Mahmud, Shafique Adnan, Chandan Dhar, Moshiur Rahman, Abdul Ahad, Shahidul Alam, Boktiar Uddin Khan, Amol Mitra, Sayed Mahamudul Haque, Siddik alam, Shahab Uddin Ahamod, H M Zia Uddin, K B M Shahajan, Salah Uddin Ahamed, Shamsul Alam, Jashim Uddin addressed the rally.
Earlier, Chittagong City Awami League and its sister organizations offered floral wreaths at the grave of late Jahur Ahamod Chowdhury.
