Jahangirnagar University emerged champions in the Freedom fighter Kazi Kamal Uddin Inter-College & University Basketball beating Shaheed AHM Kamruzzaman Govt. Degree College by 64-49 points in the final held on Saturday at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium in the city.
The winners dominated the first half by 36-20 points.
Tareq was the highest scorer with 26 points while Sajid supported him with 19 points for Jahangirnagar University Amit Hasan caged 14 points and Piash scored 12 points for Kamruzzaman Govt. Degree College.
Bangladesh Basketball Federation president Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Twelve universities and colleges, split into four groups, took part in the meet, organized by BBF.
Participating teams:
Group A – Dhaka University, Shaheed Kamruzzaman Govt. Degree College, Rajshhahi and BRAC University.
Group B – Jahangir University, IUB and Vertical Horizon.
Group C- Islamic University of Technology of Gazipur, Notre Dame University and North South University.
Group D – Islamic University of Kushtia, Daffodil University and Saint Joseph College.
