With a view to removing injustice and anomalies from society by short films and dramas, a cultural organization named ‘Jahangirnagar Cine Society’ started its journey on Friday on the university campus.
The announcement of formal launching of the society came at a press conference at the office of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Journalists Association.
Announcing the launching of the group, chief advisor of the organization and associate professor of zoology department of the varsity Dr. Kabirul Bashar said, “‘We already made three short films and one of those has already adjudged as the short film by Asia Foundation.
He also announced a 14-member executive committee of the society with Naeem Abir and Sajedul Islam Sabuj as president and secretary respectively.
The other office-bearers are: vice-president (administration) Robin Khan, vice-president (production) SMK Rana, joint secretary Mainul Islam Hasan, organizing secretary Yeasir Arafat Borno, finance secretary KH Talha, assistant finance secretary Umma Mahbuba Toma, office secretary Sirazul Islam Raj, among others.
