Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed of Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team will play in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates from May 1. A reputed organisation of Hong Kong will arrange the franchise basis cricket tournament for women. India and Australia used to stage franchise basis cricket competition for women every year.
All-rounder Jahanara Alam informed that they got No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Jahanara said, ” We shall leave the country for Dubai on April 30. If everything goes well, we shall return home on May 16.”
A total of six teams will take part in the tournament. A number of 20 matches will be held in the 16-day long cricket competition. Jahanara Alam will play for Falcon, while Rumana Ahmed will play for Barmy Army.
This franchise based cricket tournament for women had started since 2018. This tournament is recognized by International Cricket Council (ICC), the highest governing body of world cricket.
