Jahanara Alam shone with the cherry as Velocity defeated Supernovas by five wickets in their first match of the Women’s T20 Challenge at Sharjah in United Arab Emirates on Wednesday. Pacer Jahanara Alam of Bangladesh bagged two wickets at the cost of 27 runs in her four overs.
Batting first Supernovas scored 126 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Jahanara Alam played a vital role to restrict Supernovas to a modest total. Ekota Bisht of Velocity grabbed three wickets, while her teammate Kasperec got two wickets.
In reply, Velocity reached the winning spot making 129 for the loss of five wickets when they had just one ball to spare.
Sune Luus of Velocity made 37 from 21 balls, while Sushma Varma scored 34 and Krishnamurti hit 29 runs.
