Jagannath Hall emerged as the champions of the Men’s Division of the Inter-Hall Football Competition of Dhaka University (DU), while Rokeya Hall became champions of the Women’s Division at the Central Play Ground of DU on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall finished runners-up of the Men’s Division, while Sufia Kamal Hall became runners-up of the Women’s Division.
After the final matches, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
President of Dhaka University Football Committee and Provost of Jagannath Hall Professor Dr Ashim Sarkar presided over the prize-giving ceremony. Provosts of different halls of DU, residential teachers, and the officials of physical training centre were present at the time.
Earlier, State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder inaugurated the football meet as the chief guest on April 19. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of DU and President of Sports Board Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman was present with him as the special guest.
