2 students death: Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan owner gives statement on accident

Md Shahadat Hossain, owner of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan gave a confessional statement in a Dhaka court in connection with a case filed over the accident that killed two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College on July 29.
Qazi Shariful Islam, Detective Branch (DB) Inspector and investigation officer of the case, produced Shahadat in the court yesterday on the completion of a seven-day remand. He filed a petition with the court to record the confessional statement of Shahadat as he agreed to do it. Magistrate Golam Nabi of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka recorded his statement and, later, sent him in the jail. Shahadat in his confessional statement said he was the owner of the ill-fated bus (Dhaka Metro B-11-9297) and Masum Billah was the driver of that bus. He admitted that Masum Billah was appointed driver of the bus without verifying his driving license.
Earlier, on August 2, the court placed Shahadat Hossain on a seven-day remand. Yesterday, Masum Billah, driver of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan, made a confessional statement in the court in connection with a case filed over the accident that killed two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College on July 29. On August 7, the court placed two other drivers and helpers of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan on seven days’ remand each, in connection with a case filed over the accident that killed two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College. Two buses of the company were competing with each other to pick up passengers, causing the accident.
Those remanded are bus drivers Jubair Hossain and Sohag Ali, and helpers Mohammad Ripon and Enayet Hossain.
