LabAid Cardiac Hospital management in Dhaka on Thursday formed a five-member medical board for the treatment of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy.
She was kept in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU)-16 of the hospital after being admitted to the hospital last afternoon. She was admitted with chest pain and low pressure.”We have already completed her coronary angiogram. It did not find any coronary problem. Injury marks have found in her body. As she was vomiting we are investigating whether there is any problem of neurology,” said Prof Dr. Barun Chakraborty who is leading the medical board.
Other members of the Board are: Prof Abdur Zahed, Dr. Sohrab Ud Zaman, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman and Dr. Mahbubul Islam.
Prof Chakraborty said Ivy is speaking normal. But it does not indicate her condition is stable. “We kept her under observation for 24 hours. We will be able to ascertain her real health condition after 24 hours,” he added.
Mayor Ivy’s physical condition is normal, said the Chief Cardiac Anesthesiologist Dr Mahbubul Islam of the hospital.
“Senior doctors are conducting her health check-up. We are taking care of her at the ICU,” he told reporters in the evening.
Mayor’s personal Assistant (PA-2) Abul Hossain said Ivy fell sick at his office in the afternoon. Later she vomited and given saline.
As she was feeling uneasy, a medical team led by City Corporation Medical Officer Golam Mustafa conducted her medical check-up and found her pressure low. They decided to push her a saline immediately but her condition depressed further. They later called an Ambulance and rushed for Dhaka for ensuring her better treatment.
