The International Mechanical Festival 2017 was held on Friday at the campus of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) at Board Bazar, Gazipur, which is a subsidiary organ of the 57-nation Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The festival was dubbed as ‘Meccelaration 2017’ and organized by the Mechanical and Chemical Engineering (MCE) Department of the University.
Amid festivity and gaiety, the carnival was inaugurated by the chief guest, Prof
Dr Harun-or-Rashid, Vice-Chancellor of National University presided over by Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor, Vice-Chancellor of IUT. The event included Robotics, Quiz and Business idea Competition, Project Showcasing, CAD Competition and Poster Presentation.
The chief guest highly appreciated the role being played by the University in the development of human resources of the member states of the OIC. He particularly mentioned about the recent development activities that have been taken up by the present management of the University.
While thanking the chief guest, Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor expressed his deep gratitude for kindly attending the programme despite his nationally important heavy preoccupation. Prof Noor said that IUT is embarking on a massive programme of broadening, deepening and widening its activities. On completion of the projects, the University would emerge as a centre of excellence and a hub of smart education in the Islamic World within a few years.
The program was ended by giving prizes and certificates to the winners of various competitions.
