IUBAT became champions of the Walton Smart TV Just Goal Football Tournament when they beat Bangladesh University by two goals to nil in the tie-breaker of the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansoor Ali National Handball Stadium on Sunday.
The stipulated time ended in a 1-1 draw.
Thus the fate of the championship was decided in the tie-breaker.
Sujan Khan of Bangladesh University was adjudged the Player of the Final.
Mafti Hasan of IUBAT was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
The champions were awarded Tk 30,000 and a trophy while the runners-up got Tk 20,000 and a trophy.
Besides, the players of the champions and runners-up got a medal each.
After the final match, Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, General Secretary of Bangladesh Athletics Federation Ibrahim Changish, Editor of Weekly Bisher Banshi Suvash Saha, Administrator of Bangabandhu National Stadium Md Yahia were with him as special guests. Chairman of the Organizing Committee Kamal Hossain Bablu, Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee Zahed Khokon, Member Secretary of the Committee Shafiqul Islam Shamim were present at the time.
