IUB Alumni honoured 5 heroic freedom fighters on the occasion of 50 years of victory

“In order to pay homage to those who have given us freedom in the liberation war in 1971, we have to learn about the war of liberation,” said S M Rezaul Karim, MP Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.
He made the remark while speaking as the chief guest at the ceremony “50 years of victory” at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) hosted by its alumni on Saturday, 11 December 2021, at Bashundhara R/A in Dhaka.
On the occasion of 50 years of victory, IUB Alumni honored five heroic freedom fighters for their special contribution in the liberation war in 1971. He further said I am not asking to do Awami League, I am not asking to do party. But I would like to make a request, read Bangabandhu, read his unfinished autobiography, read the prison diary, read the history of the liberation war.
Internships will be arranged in his ministry for the students who have passed from IUB, said Nasrul Hamid, MP, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
IUB BoT Chair Abdul Hai Sarker has said, for University’s development, the role of alumni is very important. He called on IUB’s alumni to come forward to take IUB forward. IUB Vice Chancellor Tanweer Hasan said, “We could not have stood here and talked without the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
 He also mentioned the importance of alumni in the university and the involvement of alumni in his future plans.
Awami League’s Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, CIU BoT Chair Tawhid Samad, IUB Alumni Sanjib Islam also delivered their speeches.
