Anika Rahman Tamanna, a female athlete of Islamic University (IU) of Kushtia won a gold medal in the inter-university Bangabandhu Sports Championships-2019 on Friday.
Tamanna, a third-year student of Islamic History and Culture received the medal at a prize-giving ceremony, which was held in Dhaka.
Assistant director of IU Physical Education department confirmed that Tamanna won the medal by beating sixty-five public and private university participants.
IU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Rashid Askari congratulated Tammanna for her great achievement, while he hoped that IU would win a lot of medals in the contest.
