Pro-vice chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman of Islamic University in Kushtia stepped down from his post by submitting his resignation letter citing personal reasons to the Secretary of Education (University) of the university Chancellor, registrar office sources said. When contacted, IU Pro- vice chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman said he had resigned following the early declaration. Now he would return to the English
department of the university, he added. While asked about the next pro-VC, Professor Abdul Hakim Sarker said the government would make decisions in this regard.
Additional Secretary of Education (University) Helal Uddin said if VC, Pro-VC and Treasurer want to resign from their posts, they have to submit their resignation letter to the university Chancellor.
