The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed the National Library Day-2019 on Tuesday with the slogan of ‘Read books in library and build enlightened people. A colorful procession, led by IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, was brought out from in front of the administrative building of the university in the morning.
The procession ended in front of Khademul Haramain Badsha Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz Central Library after parading main roads of the campus while pro-vice-chancellor Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, acting registrar S M Abdul Latif, and among others took part on the procession.
Later, a discussion programme was held there.
IU Librarian M Ataur Rahman conducted the programme attended by two hundred students from different departments including student advisor Prof Dr Paresh Chandra Barman, IIER director Prof Dr M Maher Ali, Prof Dr M Mamun of IU Economics department and assistant proctor Dr M Anisur Rahman.
