The government appointed Professor Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid Askari and Professor Dr. Md. Selim Toha Vice – Chancellor and Treasurer respectively of Islamic University, Kushtia on Sunday.
The university’s Acting Registrar S M Abdul Latif confirmed it to media saying that the Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.
Chancellor of the university President Abdul Hamid gave them appointment for next four years.
Professor Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid Askari joined the English Department of the university in 1990. He became Chairman of IU Folklore Studies Department in 2015.
He was elected “Secretary General of Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association for 2014 Session”.
Dr. Md. Selim Toha is a Professor of the Law and Muslim Jurisprudence department of Islamic University.
IU got new VC after 51 days of the lean period. Before him, Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker was the Vice -Chancellor.
