IU hosts int’l confce today

A two-day 7th International Consortium for Social Development and Asia-Pacific (ICSDAP) Biennial Conference titled ‘Social unrest, peace and development’ will begin at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia today.
The conference of ICSDAP would be the first of its kind in Bangladesh and it would take Islamic University to new heights, IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari said in a press conference. ICSDAP and Islamic University’s Social Welfare department will jointly organise the conference at Birsherstha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university.
All necessary preparations had already been taken to hold the conference in a peaceful atmosphere, the VC said.
Among others, IU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, Manohar Pawar, a professor of Charles Sturt University, Australia and Prof Dr Mamunur Rahman, coordinator of the conference were present on the occasion.
