The Islamic University (IU), Kushtia is going to launch three new departments from the academic year 2015-16 in a bid to provide time befitting education to learners.
The three new departments are- Folklore under Faculty of Arts, Marketing under Faculty of Business Administration and Political Science under Faculty of Social Science.
The University Grant Commission (UGC) has recently sent a note to the university approving it to open the three new departments, IU Register office sources said.
IU Vice chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Hakim Sarkar confirmed that “Students admission process in the new departments will begin from the current academic session,”
A number of 230 students including 75 in the Folklore Department, 75 in the Marketing Department and 80 in the Political Science Department will get opportunity to admit themselves into these newly launched departments.
