IU CYB gets new committee

Mostafizur Rahman of Folklore Studies Department and M Shahedul Islam of Law Department were elected as the President and Secretary of Consumer Youth of Bangladesh (CYB), a volunteer organisation of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
Prof Dr M Maher Ali of IU English Department and the Director of Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER), also the Chief Adviser of the organisation, announced the committee recently.
The other office bearers are- Abu Yousuf, Nazmul Hasan, and Arman Hossen as Vice-Presidents, Sajeda Akter Jaly, Mazharul Islam and Azizul haque Miraz as Assistant Secretaries, Ashraful Islam as Organising Secretary, Al Amin Hossen as Treasurer, Saddam Hossen Jony as Office Secretary, Ashikur Rahman as Literature Secretary, Nazrul Islam as Planning Secretary, Naharul Islam as Information and Technology Secretary, Ashikur Rahman as Publicity Secretary, Biplob Khandaker as Media Secretary, Tamim Adnan as Cultural Secretary, Azam Noor as Safe Food Affair Secretary, Mir Shuvo as Law Secretary, Afiya Tanzum as Women Affairs Secretary and Atikur Rahman as Social Welfare Secretary.
The newly elected committee will hold their post for the next one year, said Professor M Maher Ali, the moderator of the committee.
Earlier, a training workshop on Leadership Management was held at the 116 No. room of the university central auditorium around 9 am with Shamimul Islam Sumon, out-going president of the organization in the chair.
Chief adviser Prof Dr Maher Ali addressed the function as the chief guest while Prof Dr Rashiduzzaman of Bangla Department, also adviser of the organization were present as special guest.
M Salimuzzaman, Assistant Director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, Kushtia spoke as chief discussant while IU Tourism and Hospitality Management Department Lecturer M Shoriful Islam Jewel and CYB central secretary Sohrawardi Shuvo participated in the programme as the trainer.
