The BNP on Thursday said it is Awami League, not BNP, which is printing fake ballot papers.
“BNP has been fighting against fabricated cases, they have no time other then it. In these circumstances, it is not BNP, but AL which is printing fake ballot papers. Everyone knows that those presses are going under attack which are printing over, polls posters then how it is possible to print fake ballots?” said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a press briefing at its Nayapaltan office.
Rizvi said it in reply to a query about the Prime Minister’s Wednesday’s comment that the BNP was printing fake ballot papers.
The BNP leader accused the Election Commission of ignoring Sheaf of Paddy candidates’ applications to provide life security to them and their supporters.
“Ruling Awami League musclemen are attacking our candidates and their workers,” Rizvi said.
Besides, Rizvi said, the leaders and activists of his party have a strong mindset campaigning for the polls despite mass arrests by police across the country.
He alleges that a congenial election environment does not prevail in Bangladesh.
Rizvi said, “Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda is in favor of the attackers. Now there is no congenial election environment in Bangladesh.”
The senior BNP leader also demanded the immediate release of all arrested BNP leaders and activists.
Rizvi said, his party men, however, are sure of victory.
He also expressed hope that people will overcome all obstacles and appear at polling centers on December 30 to re-establish their rights.
