Chittagong IT Conference was held at a posh hotel in Chittagong recently, said a press release . The goal of this event was to bring the IT Community of Chittagong together in order to promote entrepreneurship in the IT Industry. The event was organized by ‘Alpha Net’, a leading Web Hosting Company in Bangladesh.
Some of the notable participants were IT Managers of GPH Ispat Ltd, Standard Asiatic Oil Company Ltd, New Horizons Computer Training Center, Alchemy Software etc. Representatives of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute, Chittagong Mahila Polytechnic Institute, Bangladesh Sweden Polytechnic Institute and Cox’s Bazar Polytechnic Institute were present. Alpha Net CEO Akramul Haider delivered the welcome speech.
Abu Sufian Haider, Alpha Net’s founder who lives in the USA was a special guest presenter at this event. He called for national and International level IT initiatives from Chittagong’s IT Community.
Based on his years of work with various IT industries in the USA, Haider insisted that as a developing country, Bangladesh presents huge entrepreneurship opportunities in various fields and industries.
“If we don’t capture these markets, foreign entities will eventually take over, resulting in great loss of opportunity for the local IT enthusiasts”, he said.
Mayeen Chowdhury, Training Manager of New Horizons Computer Training Institute, also addressed the event.
