ISSF International Archery Championship begins today

The 1st Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) International Archery Championship begins today (Friday) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium with the participation of seventeen countries.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr. Biren Sikder MP is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest.
Youth and Sports Secretary Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) vice president Harun-Ur Rashid, BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza, Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation general director Khaled Bin Al Shayek and Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited chairperson Arast Khan will present as special guests.
Bangladesh Archery Federation president lieutenant general M Mainul Islam will preside over the opening ceremony.
Some hundred arches from seventeen countries will fight for nine gold medals in the four-day meet, organised by ISSF.
The budget of the championship has been estimated at Taka seventy lacs.
Islami Bank, Trust Bank, Cute Daily Asian Age and The Blazer BD are the main sponsors of the championship.
This time Bangladesh is expecting number of medals among the nine gold from the championship.
The participating countries are Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Iran, Uganda, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Mori Tania, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Libya, Morocco, Nepal, Bhutan, and host Bangladesh.

Recurve – Roman Sana, Nurul Huda, Sanowar Hossain, Tamimul Islam, Beauty Roy, Shamoli Roy, Rariya Akter Shapla, and Hira Moni.
Compound : Abul Kashem, Ramkrishna, Nazmul Huda, Milon Mollah, Susmita Bonik, Bonna Akter, Bipasha Akter and Roksana Akter.
