Ismat Jahan, ambassador of Bangladesh in Brussels, has been reelected member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
Earlier, she was a member of the committee for
a four-year term (2011-2014) and now she will serve as the new member for the next four years (2015-2018), said a release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Bangladesh.
The election was held at United Nations on Thursday.
A total of 18 candidates contested for 12 vacant posts of the body, the release added.
