Islamists threaten hartal on Oct 26 if Latif not booked

Sammilito Islami Dal Samuho, a coalition of Islamist parties, on Thursday threatened to enforce a daylong
countrywide hartal on October 26 if sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui is not arrested by October 22 for his disparaging remarks about hajj.
Mawlana Zafrullah Khan, secretary general of the coalition, said they gave the authorities until October 22 to arrest
Latif Siddiqui who was also expelled from the Awami League presidium. Addressing a press conference at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) in the morning, he said, “We demand that he (Siddiqui) be arrested and put on trial for hurting the religious sentiment of Muslims with his derogatory comments about hajj and Tablig Jamaat.”
