Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam urged the Islamic scholars of the country to resist the evil activities staged by the BNP-Jamaat allies. “It is high time to protest the country-wide violence committed by the BNP-Jamaat and Hefazat-e-Islam as they had committed such unlawful activities for saving the convicted war criminals”, said the minister.
The food minister came up with this call on Friday at a discussion meeting arranged by Bangladesh United Islamic Party at Jatiya Press Club here.
Advocate Qamrul told the meeting that the BNP-Jamaat and Hefazat-e-Islam are misleading the people in the name of religion and the Islamic scholars of the country should to resist them under a unified way.
Ismail Hossain, convenor of the Dhaka city committee, chaired the session while central and city leaders including Maulana Tazul Islam also spoke at the function. The minister, however, admitted that the trial of the war criminals is being held as per the legal compliance of the proper law.
