Islamic preacher Abu Taw Haa Muhammad Adnan, who was found on Friday eight days after his mysterious disappearance on his way back to Dhaka from Rangpur, is not facing journalists.
His family said he is taking rest and won’t talk to anybody now. No one from Taw Haa’s family did not reply the questions when journalists went his in-laws’ house at Central Road in Rangpur city on Saturday morning.
Earlier, a Rangpur court ordered to hand over the prominent religious speaker Abu Twa-ha Adnan and his two companions to their families.
Judge KM Hafizur Rahman of the Rangpur Metropolitan Judicial Court issued the order around 11:30 pm on Friday (June 18). Later they were handed over to their respective families. Confirming the matter, Court Inspector Nazmul Islam said three people, including religious speaker Abu Twa-Ha Mohammad Adnan, were brought to the court from the DB office around 9:15 pm.
There they testified voluntarily in the court of Metropolitan Judicial Court Judge KM Hafizur Rahman. The court later ordered them to be handed over to their families, considering voluntary hiding. Abu Twa-Ha Mohammad, his companion Abdul Mukit and driver Amir Uddin Fayez were later handed over to the family.
Kotwali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid said in a statement to the court that they had voluntarily gone into hiding. They were handed over to the family as there were no charges against them.
Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Abu Maruf Hossain told a press conference at the DB office in Rangpur around 5pm that religious speaker Abu Twa-Ha Muhammad Adnan had told police that he had gone into hiding at a friend’s house in Gaibandha for personal reasons.
The three other people, who were accompanying Abu Taw Haa at the time of his disappearance, have also returned to their homes.
