Several Islamic parties have warned that they would launch tougher movement if sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui is released from the jail. They demanded his capital punishment for his disparaging remarks on Hajj, Prophet Muhammad
(Sm) and the Tablig Jamaat.
The reaction of the Islamic parties came on Tuesday following his bail granted by the High Court.
Islami Oikya Jote brought out a procession at Lalbagh area in the evening demanding capital punishment of Latif Siddiqui and enactment of Blasphemy Law. A brief rally was held after the procession.
Sammilito Ulema-Mashayekh Parishad, Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan and some other Islamic parties and organisations also warned that they would go for tougher movement if Latif Siddiqui is released and his capital punishment is not ensured.
